bellies

it’s no secret i loved being pregnant.  everything about it.  the clothes, the hair, the skin, the glow, and even the 50 additional pounds.  i will admit i was extremely lucky not to have any of the awful side affects, just the lovely ones like flutters and lots of fun doctors appointments.  this is why pregnancy is one of my favorite life moments to shoot.  you can just feel the mom’s anticipation, strength, and full heart.

plastic is bad

BPA free, of course we all know now that we can’t use anything that isn’t BPA free.  especially for our kiddos.  but i’ve continued to be unnerved by all the OTHER chemicals in plastic.  if we are just now finding out about all the terrible things BPA can do to young bodies, what are we going to find next?  i may have made myself a bit crazy, buying stainless steel containers rather than plastic for adam’s lunchbox (found here), glass bottles for lake (added bonus they conduct heat faster when you need to warm the milk), and glass containers for lake’s baby food (my favorites here) and our family food stored at home.  i’m sure this is one of many articles/studies about the problems that still exist with plastic baby items, it’s very infuriating that this is still an issue.  but until we find a safer way it seems best to choose a healthier alternative whenever possible!

Danger Lurking in BPA Free Bottles and Sippy Cups

moving day

moving day.  never an easy day, physically, emotionally.  when adam was one we moved into this adorable little house.  after only two short years we have decided to move.  partly because it was a good time to sell, partly to find better public schools, partly because i had done every project i could in this house and needed a fresh start.  even though i know all of these are legitimate reasons, i feel a deep sadness leaving our first home as a family of four.  i know we will love our new home, but it seems to be a long hard road ahead to make it feel like ours.  i’m sure over the next few weeks i will post many more photos from this lovely first house, but for now here are some great moments from our last days at hatteras.
